Arrival, 2023

These paintings borrow their names from the movie Arrival, which was based on the short story, “Story of Your Life,” by Ted Chiang. Both are about an alien visitation where two professors – a linguist and a physicist – try to understand the aliens' two-dimensional language and their concept of physics, which radically differs from humanity's understanding of time and space.
